Patroni is a widely used open-source tool that provides high availability for PostgreSQL. When performing operations with Patroni, it is necessary to connect to the servers via SSH. Tasks such as switchover, pause/resume, show/edit configuration, and viewing the replication list are carried out manually from the Linux command line.

Additionally, to view PostgreSQL and Patroni logs for each server, you must connect to each one via SSH, navigate to the relevant log directory, and manually examine the logs. In a typical Patroni setup, accessing services like etcd, HAProxy, and Patroni for general monitoring and control also requires connecting to each server individually. All of these tasks are manual. Furthermore, the PostgreSQL Patroni HA cluster does not have a built-in notification or alert mechanism—custom development is needed for this. If there is more than one Patroni cluster, monitoring and management become even more complex, as each member server must be accessed, controlled, and managed separately.
